Ladies, bring a plate
With the success of the pre show BBQ, dinner well again feature heavily in the pre contest line up. With BBQ/meat supplied and the tradition interval 100% fat free Sticky Date, it's time for the delegate to show off their wares. If the audience would like to bring a small salad, antipasti or something sweet that would be most appreciated. Maybe this could be the beginning of Master Chef Coburg. BYO Alcohol and driver.
And the battle begins
This year's preparations are well under way, the songs have been composed, the singers decided and the frocks have hit the Janome. Again organisers claim that this will be the biggest and best Eurovision Coburg of all time, but really if the organisers claim it's going to be crap...get new organisers. The usual suspects are rumoured to be in the line up, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France with a return appearance of 2 long time no shows to the contest.

Greece is a winner on the bed!
It's official the winner of Eurovision song contest Coburg 2008 is Greece. The neck and neck battle between Greece and Israel was finally decided when Israel kamikazed and awarded Greece douze points. Thus making the tally board read Israel 101 points and Greece 112 points. Some critics declared that this year's contest had nothing to do with the songs and was a competition between boobs and buns. Adding fuel to this speculation was the fact one audience member was more interested in putting the Greek entry "on the bed" than the actual competition. Sakis was thrilled with the
victory as it is much better than any result he has ever got in the real contest.29 October 2008
It's all about position!

The Pantheon may not be the only weathered monument to undergo laser treatment this year, the Greeks are breaking with tradition, instead of hair it's bare!Athena poosalotofstuff has claimed to be one of the team of ten laser beauty technicians hired to work on this years contestant.
As you can see from our exclusive pictures they have made quite a dramatic transformation.
Well if all goes to plan for the Greeks it won't be hairy back, but sexy back!

Finland to rehab
When confronted about going to rehab, all Finland's contestant would say was " No, No, NO........it's all a misunderstanding, i was visiting an friend." While sources close to the star support this account of events, organisers in Coburg have concerns that addiction will haunts this news reader turn pop sensation.06 October 2008
Cyprus' thinks they can dance!
This year Cypriot officials state that "..eurovision is no longer a song contest....it's about the spectacle and how many reveals can be crammed into 3 minutes...so if you can't beat 'em, step touch." And that is just what Cyprus plans to do, offering a major dance extravaganza to accompany their song. When pressed for details officials would not name their award wining choreographer but they did say " his influences include Tony Bartuccio, Helen Keller and Quentin."

Ireland says "hold the cranberry"

No need to preheat the oven to 180C or prepare the sausage mince stuffing, Ireland has declared they won't be bringing the turkey. With Dustin the Turkey failing to secure a finals position in Belgrade, Irish officials have stated "...he was delicious but he won't be trying his luck in Coburg...". Either love him or hate him Dustin caused quite a stir in Serbia being the first Eurovision contestant to present their song with a man's hand up their backside, although sources are yet to confirm this. More news on the Greek entry as it comes to hand.

One of the hosts named

After much speculation one of this years hosts has finally been announced. Jason-Scott Watkins who hosted the event in 2006 and 2007 again has signed up again to leader the audience through a sparkling evening of entertainment. Speaking to one of our sources Jason-Scott said "I'm just thrilled the organisers had the sense to pick me again....it's an event close to my heart."
And when asked about a co-host " well i can't really confirm that yet but i do believe she will be the most important women in the whole of creation"
who could this woman be??
France confirmed

Despite placing second from the bottom in 2006 and 2007, France has been the first country to confirm it's participation in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest Coburg. The French delegation have hinted that their song will be a ballad with a tribal flavour. They also promise that particular emphasis will be placed on hand choreography or as it would be know on Battle of the Choirs handography.
This is not calling UK

After what audiences may remember as a slight technical hitch with message bank at last years contest, organisers have announced that only votes from within the arena will be counted this year. They have also promised that neighbour voting won't be an issue as they don't even talk to their neighbours after the ginger bread incident of 2006.
Date is announced!
Youtube a source of knowledge
Many of this year's contestants are becoming as modern as tomorrow by seeking inspiration from YouTube. This is just another example of how eurovision is moving with the times and catching up to the 90's. Gone are the days of hiring choreographers and stylists, artists are now turning to the Internet to see what can be done with a trip to St Vinnies, a pedestal fan and a web cam.Bigger than ever!
Organisers make the claim that the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest Coburg will be bigger than anything we have seen in the past. While they remain beyond tight lipped about what audiences can expect our sources have been able to established that there is quiet a large budget on staging. Other whispers include an addition to the hosting line up, but we are unable to confirm any names at this time.Arrivederci Roma
After only participating for the first time in Eurovision Song Contest Coburg in 2007, Italy has made a shock withdrawal from this year's contest. While officials state that this is due to San Remo being a more popular competition, many fans believe it is an act of bad sportsmanship. Nel Blu di Pinto di Blu better known as the classic Volare failed to win favour with the audience on the night coming 4Th with 68 points. Some experts have claimed there was a bias towards the United Kingdom but others speculate that the entry was just far too dated for the modern audience. Perhaps we will see a ritornare in 2009?
